Bayer Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane began the press conference by congratulating Fradi.
“It was a spectacular and high-intensity match. Perhaps in the last third of the pitch, we chose the wrong decisions in certain situations. Both teams had their chances, so it really was a spectacular match.”
Ferencváros head coach Peter Stöger revealed in a response to a question from Nemzeti Sport that the atmosphere in the dressing room was very good after the match.
“The feeling of earning three points against a team such as them is a great honor. I think everybody was ready to fight. In this international series, I would highlight this match with no hesitation. I'm not surprised that it wasn't easy to earn points because we were in a group of teams that, if playing like this year, will be in the Champions League next season. However, we had a chance of earning points before, but we made mistakes that the opponent could use as revenge at this level.”
In response to the question, he added that FTC had indicated with this performance that it could defeat a serious opponent that is at the European level.
“We also play well in the Hungarian League matches without conceding goals, and we lead the table. When I came here, we set two main goals: to win NB I and to get into the Champions League or EL group stages. One can talk about whether this one victory in such a strong group is enough. Some say it's not, while others say it's a great achievement. I think we scored a huge victory.”
