French media outlet, Media Foot, reports that nine-time Ligue 1 champion and 1993 World Cup winning club, Olympique Marseille, is keen to sign Tunisian national team player Aïssa Laïdouni – who has played in the Qatar World Cup – as he might leave the Hungarian champions next summer. However, Nemzeti Sport reports that the Laïdouni's club's extension option is effective this January, which will tie him to FTC until 2024.

According to French media outlet Media Foot, FTC's Tunisia national team player has attracted the interest of several teams, including Marseille, with his excellent performance at the World Cup in Qatar. According to the portal, Marseille's managers have high praise for Laïdouni's skills, personality, and fighter mentality.

"He's a real soldier, perfect in his position, he comes out of the shadow, possesses the ball and starts the attack. That's exactly what Marseille is looking for in the coming months," the portal wrote.

The article also mentions that Laïdouni's contract will expire in the summer of 2023 (this is also stated on the midfielder's Transfermarkt page), but according to Nemzeti Sport, Laïdouni has signed a three plus one-year contract with Ferencváros in 2020, and the club will exercise its extension right in January. This means that he will be contracted to FTC until the summer of 2024, so there is no question of him being signed for free in the summer.

It is no coincidence that Romanian Prosport reported at the end of November that a French top-flight club would pay €10 million to sign Laïdouni (if his contract were to expire in six months, this would be out of the question). The Romanian portal also reported that the midfielder joined Ferencváros in the summer of 2020 for €600,000, and based on the contract, if he is transferred again, 15% of the transfer fee will go to his former club Voluntari – which is why Laïdouni's future is of interest to the Romanian press. The footballer joined the Romanian top league side from French club, Angers B, in 2018, and he scored seven goals in 56 appearances for the club. Since 2020, he has earned Ferencváros nine goals and assisted 16 times in 102 games.

As far as Nemzeti Sport knows, Ferencváros has not received an official offer for Laïdouni in recent weeks but several top league clubs, not only Marseille and from France, have shown keen interest in him. Liverpool.com, for example, is already reporting that Laïdouni could be an ideal midfield option for Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as an alternative to Brazilian Fabinho.

Negotiations between FTC and the clubs could start after the first firm offer arrives in Budapest. Transfermarkt currently values the 25-year-old Tunisian national team player of 28 caps at €4 million, who was a starter in all three of Tunisia's World Cup matches, playing for a total of 245 minutes and registering one assist against France.
