We first asked Stanislav Cherchesov about the reasons for the early substitution of Adama Traoré, the fact that he was replaced by the more defensive Loncar, and that Aïssa Laïdouni and Tokmac Nguen were not on the pitch for the last ten minutes.
„The answer is simple, that's what the head coach decided. The mentioned players didn't play the last ten minutes in previous matches either. Traoré, for example, could not train properly in the last few days. We know every player's physical condition and the reasons for the substitutions” – the FTC head coach told NSO.
„Unfortunately, things don't always turn out the way we want, the god of football sometimes rewrites what we want. Apart from five minutes, I can be satisfied with the performance, and the statistics show that too. This game didn't turn out well, but we hope that the tables will turn next week” – continued Cherchesov, who also spoke specifically about the game's end in response to a question.
„There was no particular reason why we lost control towards the end. Maybe we lost concentration a little bit when the opponents equalized from a fixed position attack, but that's football. I have one job: to prepare the team as best as possible for the rematch. We had some turnovers which Slovan took advantage of, and we have to improve on that. I said to the team after the final whistle that we'll meet tomorrow and will continue our work.”
