Dominik Szoboszlai, recovering from his injury, could join his teammates in May. He can now perform football drills and running exercises.

"Regarding Dominik Szoboszlai, I cannot tell you when he will be able to play." RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke at the press conference last Friday ahead of the Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen about the return of injured footballers, but there was little new about the Hungarian midfielder.

On March 19, EM Sports Consulting management office, that represents the footballer who scored the winning goal in the Euro 2020 play-off finals against Iceland, announced that the rehabilitation was progressing at the right pace. However, due to the nature of the injury, patience is needed, and it is likely that the Hungarian attacker will be able to resume full training in May so that he can start preparing for this summer's European Championships with the national team. A few days later, RB Leipzig announced on its official Twitter account that the player missing because of inflammation of the pubic bone had already started football training, although separately from his teammates for the time being.

Well, that's the story for now.

On the positive side, the footballer does not feel any pain during ball and various running exercises, so there is still a chance that he will join his teammates next month. An MRI scan will be carried out on Tuesday morning, and the check-up will show what condition the bones are in and whether recovery is still going as planned.

"It is also difficult for him because this is not an injury that has a clearly defined rehabilitation period. You have to be patient with this type of inflammation, you have to constantly monitor the development of the bones," Mátyás Esterházy, the footballer's manager, told our portal. "Since Dominik is at the beginning of his career, it is important that we do not rush anything. The important thing is to return to the pitch when he is truly in a perfect condition, and the current inflammation has no effect on the rest of his career. We are hopeful, but also careful. Of course, he would like to return as soon as possible, and he works very hard for it, but the long-term aspects should not be lost in sight. Since I'm not a doctor, I don't want to make any promises, it's not my place to talk about the exact date of his return, but now, it looks like his recovery is still going according to plan.”

Leipzig, that has been employing Péter Gulácsi and Willi Orbán as key players for years, will have three Bundesliga games in May. If everything goes according to plan, the 20-year-old footballer will be able to play in one of the meetings.
