Following the Hungary-England (0-4) World Cup qualifier, Hungarian national team head coach Marco Rossi said he cannot yet come to terms with the fact that his team suffered such a big goal-difference defeat.

I have little to say after this...When we are up against an opponent like England, which is currently stronger than the Portuguese and the French we saw at the European Championship, we can only hope that our opponent catches a bad day, and we do everything right. We played better in the first half, but even then, there were technical errors that multiplied in the second half. After the first goal, we stretched and lost the solid game we had before. Physically and technically, they rose above us. I am very disappointed with the result and the way we reacted to the first English goal," summed up Marco Rossi.

He also responded to Nemzeti Sport Online's question about individual mistakes and the inclusion of Ákos Kecskés and Bolla Bendegúz in the team.

“The thing was that I didn't have a choice. We were short of right-wing defenders, and I had to make a decision. I couldn't count on Endre Botka, Loïc Négo, or Gergő Lovrencsics. However, my confidence in inexperienced players is still unbroken. The responsibility is mine. Whoever makes a mistake on the team is ultimately my responsibility because the decision is mine. If we could restart the game, I would send the same players to the pitch," said the expert, who also mentioned the next step as the team has to play in Albania on Sunday.

“Tomorrow is a new day. We analyze what happened, and try to correct the mistakes. The Albanians have many players playing in Italy, some in Spain, so they have quality players. We need to go there with determination and eliminate our current shortcomings. When a team's determination falls apart, the opponent's dominance is immediately shown. An English team member's market value is more than the entire Hungarian team. Regardless, I'm disappointed, and I can't digest this defeat. We can lose, but with a national team, we can't lose with such a difference. We have to stick together even after a goal because it's more serious than it is in itself.”

NSO also asked him whom he can count on for the next games, and how he sees some of his players in terms of physical condition.

“Dominik Szoboszlai played well for 60 minutes, then he got tired. But, by the time he got tired, the match was already lost, so I decided to give him more minutes to play. If I had made Endre Botka play then, it would've been risky for the future. However, on Sunday, if all is well, we can count on him. László Kleinheisler was kicked, but that's not why we substituted him."
